Beyaz Köşk’s global membership

Established with the goal of contributing to the development of children, parents, and educators while creating model projects for Turkey, the IUE Children’s University Research and Application Center had previously become one of the few centers in the country to join the European Children’s Universities Network (EUCUNET).

REACHING HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN

During its nearly 4-year membership period, many projects and collaborations extending from Izmir to the rest of Turkey have been developed. Organizing events, workshops, and educational programs in a wide range of fields, from arts to engineering, sports to social sciences, IUE Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten has shared its knowledge and experience with hundreds of children and families.

GAINED INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

Having earned a respected position internationally, IUE Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten has taken another important step toward raising environmentally conscious and healthy individuals by joining the Global Schools Program. Acting with a vision of being a university that produces creative and transformative solutions for sustainable living, IUE has once again demonstrated the importance it places on children’s education in this area.

‘DISCOVERY WORKSHOPS’ HAVE BEGUN

Emphasizing the importance of instilling sustainability awareness at an early age and stating that joining the Global Schools Program aligns perfectly with this goal, Onur Kurtuluş Kara, Principal of IUE Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten, said, “This program is an international movement that helps children around the world gain awareness of sustainability and connects teachers and educational institutions with global goals. Within this framework, we have started to explore the theme of sustainability in our ‘Discovery Workshop’ classes for the 4- and 5-year-old groups at our kindergarten. They are discovering concepts such as recycling, resource conservation, and respect for nature through play-based, experimental, and project-oriented activities. Every classroom at Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten has become a learning space where young thinkers who look to the future with hope come together. We truly believe that small steps lead to great changes. We are happy to be with children who are curious, questioning, creative, and dream of making the world a better place.”
