IUE ranks third in Europe

IUE, who distinguished itself by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting talent, and encouraging global research to enhance student academic success, surpassed many well-established European institutions to earn its place on the prestigious list. This year, IUE also made a significant mark on the 2025 Impact Rankings, prepared by the UK-based assessment organization Times Higher Education, ranking in the 601-800 category globally and placing it above many other esteemed international universities.
“WE FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE OF YOUNG PEOPLE”
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu noted that the University's vision and energy have led to a streak of successes. Emphasizing that all of the University's projects and investments are focused on the future of young people, Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu said, “This award is given to universities that foster global interaction and networking at high standards, and aim to educate successful students in a multicultural and dynamic environment. It honors institutions that prioritize and actively encourage their undergraduate students' participation in international opportunities. The achievement is very valuable to us in terms of its quality and scope.”

Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu continued as follows: “We don't just provide our students with high-quality knowledge; we also give them a global perspective, self-confidence, and courage. We want to see young people become leaders who will make a difference not only in Turkey but also around the world. The trust that the young people and their families have in our University, as evidenced by the YKS placement results, along with the achievements we have made, makes us proud while also increasing our responsibility to pursue bigger goals.”

Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu Stating that Izmir University of Economics is a rising value not only in Turkey but globally, Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu said, “This year, Ece Fişek, a graduate of Department of English Translation and Interpreting, was also awarded at the 2024 ‘Global Undergraduate Awards’, a competition nicknamed the ‘Nobel Prize for Youth’. This year, as a University, we expanded on our success by reaching the third spot in Europe. I see this achievement as a result of our students' vision, our academics' efforts, and our University's pioneering and effective stance toward the future. I sincerely congratulate everyone who contributed to these results.”
