Call for Applications: UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in STEM (2026)
Applications are now open for the third edition of the UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Established by UNESCO's Executive Board, the Prize is awarded every two years to five outstanding young scientists under the age of 40, one from each of UNESCO's five geographical regions, in recognition of their contributions to research, education, or scientific cooperation.
Each laureate will receive USD 50,000 to support the development of their career and promote the wider dissemination of their work and ideas.
Applications may be submitted online until 30 November 2026 at 01.59. Nominations may be submitted by:
- UNESCO Member States, in consultation with their National Commissions for UNESCO;
- Non-governmental organizations in official partnership with UNESCO;
- UNESCO Chairs;
- Category 2 Centres;
- International scientific unions; and
- Universities.
