Application Requirements for International Students
WHO CAN APPLY?
1) Foreign nationals, provided they are not enrolled in or have not graduated from secondary education institutions (high schools) in Turkiye [excluding foreign nationals who have completed their entire high school education at embassy schools or international private educational institutions listed in the MOBIS system, and foreign nationals came to Turkiye under a project administered by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education],
2) Those who were Turkish citizens by birth but lost Turkish citizenship by obtaining a permission to renounce Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Interior and those who document that they have a blue card issued upon request because they have lost Turkish citizenship (provided they are not enrolled in or have not graduated from a secondary school (high school) in Turkiye and in TRNC),
3) Foreign nationals who acquired Turkish citizenship through acquired citizenship / dual nationals in this situation (provided they are not enrolled in or have not graduated from a secondary school (high school) in Turkiye and in TRNC),
4) Turkish nationals who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC in Turkish schools opened under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education),
5) Those who are TRNC nationals, provided they are not enrolled in or have not graduated from high schools in Turkiye / high schools implementing the Turkish curriculum in the TRNC, and who have GCE AL or TR-YOS results, or those who meet the other application requirements
6) Those who are TRNC nationals / dual nationals, one of whose nationalities is TRNC, and who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have / will have GCE AL results; or those who are TRNC nationals and have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and have TR-YOS results, or those who meet the other application requirements.
WHO CAN NOT APPLY?
1) Turkish nationals who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in Turkiye or TRNC,
2) TRNC nationals / dual nationals, one of whose nationalities is TRNC,
3) Dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish as defined in Article 7 of Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901,
4) Turkish nationals, or dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish as defined in Article 7 of Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901, who are enrolled in schools affiliated with embassies in Turkiye or in foreign high schools located in Turkiye,
5) TRNC citizens and those who renounced Turkish citizenship / Blue Card holders who are enrolled in or have graduated from secondary education institutions (high schools) in Turkiye and in the TRNC,
6) Foreign nationals who are enrolled in or have graduated from secondary education institutions (high schools) in Turkiye, excluding foreign nationals who have completed their entire high school education at embassy schools / international private educational institutions listed in the MOBIS system, and foreign nationals who came to Turkiye under a project administered by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education.

Applications of candidates, who do not hold any exam results or diplomas stated here, will be evaluated by taking their high school diplomas and high school transcripts into consideration. If necessary, respective academic units may conduct an interview with the applicant and evaluate the application accordingly |
Required Documents for Application to Undergraduate Programs
The documents required for application must be translated if they are written in any language other than Turkish or English.
- National or International Exam Score
- High school diploma
- High School Transcript (grade list)
- Passport Copy
- English language proficiency certificate, if there is any (TOEFL, PTE, FCE etc.)
- Portfolio for Textile and Fashion Design applicants
Application fee
- In order to apply for the undergraduate programs, the students must pay an application fee of 50 USD.
- Online application process is completed only if the application fee is paid by credit card at the end of the online application.
- Applications without application fee payment can not be evaluated.
Scholarship/Discount Options
IUE offers different types of discounts/tuition scholarships based on the academic success and background of the applicants. Please note that there is not any separate application for scholarships. Each applicant is also evaluated for relevant discounts/scholarships. If a candidate is qualified for any type of discount/scholarship, s/he will be notified with an acceptance letter explaining all detail.
