‘Graduation’ excitement of kindergarteners

The Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten, the only kindergarten affiliated with a foundation university in Izmir, held its year-end festival and graduation celebration. 19 children aged 5-6 experienced their first-ever graduation excitement, donning gowns and tossing their caps in the air just like their university-aged older brothers and sisters. The littlest IUE members sang and danced, enjoying an unforgettable and fun-filled evening.

At the year-end event for Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten, which began operating within Izmir University of Economics in 2022, not only the graduating children but also other students attending the kindergarten delighted their families with their activities. Students from the ‘Chocolate Cookies’, ‘Seashell’, ‘Submarine on Mars’, and ‘Crazy Puppets’ classes sang songs and performed movements they learned in sports class, having a joyful day. The kindergarteners also displayed an exhibition of the paintings they created in class. At the end of the ceremony, the children received their diplomas and, with great excitement and enthusiasm, threw their caps, creating colorful scenes.

“OUR ARMS ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO THEM”

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, IUE Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Aslı Ceylan Öner said, “The sparkle in our children's eyes, the excitement in their hearts, and the curious expressions on their faces give us hope. Our school aims to provide not only knowledge but also fundamental values such as love, respect, responsibility, and sensitivity towards nature and people. We value them as individuals, nurture their self-confidence, and encourage them to discover their talents. We wish that our children, who started their education journey within a university, always stay in the light of science. We were their first educational home, but our arms will always be open to them.”

“CHILDREN WILL MAKE THE FUTURE BRIGHTER”

Onur Kurtuluş Kara, Principal of IUE Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten, stated that this ceremony also signifies a new beginning for the children. He said, “We had wonderful moments with our children and collected unforgettable memories. We are so glad our paths crossed with them. We know that they will make our future brighter. I have great faith in all of them and wholeheartedly believe they will be successful throughout their lives. The essence of everything is happiness. Today, as a kindergarten, we are all sharing this happiness together. The families trusted us and entrusted us with their most precious possessions, their children. I also extend my sincere thanks to the families.”
