They reflected cultural heritage in fashion

Senior students from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) completed their educational journey with an unforgettable fashion show and exhibition. A special collection of 60 pieces prepared by 12 seniors from the Department of Textile and Fashion Design was presented to the audience in a spectacular fashion show. The young designers, who reflected the cultural heritage of civilizations such as Anatolia, Mesopotamia, Rome, the Hittites, and the Ottoman Empire in their creations, left a significant mark on the night and received great applause from the audience.
Rönesans Model Agency, the organizer of the fashion show, managed the event flawlessly and delivered a visual feast. The exhibition, which featured over 200 projects by students graduating from the departments of Architecture, Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design, also received high praise from visitors. IUE students stood out with their sustainable and innovative projects, some of which were created with the help of artificial intelligence.

“WE DEVELOPED PROJECTS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY”
Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, Dean of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, expressed the pride of completing 20 years as a faculty and said they have graduated nearly 3 thousand young people so far. Prof. Dr. Bulgun said, “Over the past 20 years, together with our students, graduates, and external stakeholders, we have implemented numerous projects that have contributed to the city and society. We thank everyone who has played a role in this success. Without their support, we would not have reached this level of achievement as a faculty. This year’s 200 graduating students once again proved the quality of their education through the projects they developed. They reinterpreted cultural heritage with a new design ethic and gave us the pleasure of watching a stunning fashion show filled with elegant designs. I congratulate all our graduates and wish them success in their professional careers.”
