IUE’s occupancy at 100%
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) achieved a great success by reaching a 100% occupancy rate in undergraduate programs, according to this year's preference results. Achieving a 99.1% occupancy rate in associate degree programs, IUE has attracted the attention of young people with its projects. Mahmut Özgener, President of IUE Board of Trustees said, “I would like to thank prospective students and their families for their trust in our university. We care very much about each and every one of our students at the University. We will stand by them with all our strength, and we will prepare them for the future with the aim of making them preferred individuals on a global scale.”
The anxious wait for hundreds of thousands of young people came to an end with the announcement of the 2022 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) results. Leaving behind 21 years in its educational background as the first foundation university of the Aegean Region, IUE has carried its success in the preference period even further this year and has made its mark among the educational institutions that young people show the most interest in. Creating Campus Izmir, the first model of university-city integration in Turkey, IUE, which has implemented many innovations such as "guaranteed internship", "uninterrupted scholarship" and "3 generation master-apprentice" project, and getting ready to lay the foundation of the new campus to be built in Güzelbahçe, has demonstrated its success by responding to the expectations of the young people. The total occupancy rate of IUE reached 99.71 percent.
WE MADE THE YOUTH OUR PRIORITY
Stating that they are proud of being the university preferred by young people from all over Turkey, President of IUE Board of Trustees, Mahmut Özgener said, “Our university, which we see as the home of hope and trust, continues its rapid development. We act with a strategy that is reputable in every field and leads the society. We bonded and united with the University, the Foundation and all members in the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, and we developed projects with a common mind. This has a great impact on our reaching the summit. We have stated at every opportunity that occupancy is not the only criterion of success; that one of the most important criteria of success is to raise globally successful young people with international competitive power. We worked, thought and produced for our youth. The results are an indication that we are on the right track.”
THEY WILL WRITE NEW SUCCESS STORIES
President Özgener contined as follows: “We have 490 graduates who live in 54 different countries by starting their own businesses or as successful employees of international companies. We have a large number of graduates who have achieved great success and inspiring life stories in our country. I believe that new students who will start their education at our university this year will add new ones to these success stories. I would like to welcome new students to the Izmir University of Economics Family and wish them continued success.”
THEY WILL UNDERSTAND THAT THEY MADE THE RIGHT DECISION.
Congratulating the prospective students, IUR Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar said, “A completely different period begins for young people who will step into university life. They worked very hard, they got tired, but they finally achieved their goals. They and we are both excited. We look forward to meeting them as soon as possible. When they start the education period, they will see the results of the right decision they made by choosing our university, and they will start to benefit from the privileges provided to them, education, infrastructure and club activities. We are in a period where information and learning methods are changing and technology is at the center of our lives. Qualified academic staff, a technological environment that meets the needs, qualified laboratories and a smart campus are necessary to manage all these. These were the factors that made our university stand out. We have made all our preparations to meet the expectations of students and to take them one step ahead of their peers. A very good period awaits us. Congratulations to the new students.”
