A ‘scholarship’ initiative in graduate education

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has expanded its scholarship opportunities for young people who wish to strengthen their academic careers through postgraduate education and create new job opportunities for themselves. As of the 2025–2026 academic year, IUE has completely removed full tuition fees for 27 master's programs, offering students the opportunity to study with either 50% or 100% scholarships. In addition to the master's programs, 100% scholarships and support packages will also be provided for 9 doctoral programs.
“CONTRIBUTION TO SCIENCE AND SOCIETY”
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Efe Biresselioğlu, Director of the IUE Graduate School, stated during an online information session attended by approximately 200 prospective students that applications for the new semester will be open until August 15. Noting that candidates can access detailed information and quotas through the University’s website, Prof. Dr. Biresselioğlu emphasized that graduate education is at the core of the University’s mission to contribute to science and society. Prof. Dr. Biresselioğlu said, “For us, graduate and doctoral education is not just about a title; it's one of the most effective ways to produce knowledge, create impact, and shape the future. We offer distinction in the job market for graduates, career transformation for professionals, and a strong research infrastructure for aspiring academics.”
“WE ARE BUILDING THE FUTURE”
Stating that “We are not just preparing our students for the future; we are building the future with them,” Prof. Dr. Biresselioğlu said, “Our University's scholarship policy is also a core part of our strategy to create an inclusive, productive, and solution-oriented academic environment. With these scholarship opportunities, our graduate and doctoral programs support the academic development of young people while advancing the University’s vision of knowledge-based social contribution. This step we are taking as a University is not just about supporting individual careers, but about opening the doors to a knowledge-based future and guiding a new generation of researchers.”
“ACADEMIC COMPANIONSHIP”
Expressing that every student at Izmir University of Economics will also receive guidance and support from an expert academic throughout their studies, Prof. Dr. Biresselioğlu said, “This system will provide personalized academic companionship, covering the thesis process for thesis-based programs and the semester project process for non-thesis programs.”
