Students are satisfied, Izmir University of Economics is at the top!
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has achieved great success in a satisfaction survey conducted by the University Research Laboratory (UNIAR), with the participation of 51 thousand 597 students studying at 200 universities across Turkey. Managing to rank among the top 10 in the general satisfaction ranking for foundation universities in Turkey, IUE maintained its leading position in the Aegean region, surpassing all other foundation universities. Izmir University of Economics, generally graded with an ‘A’ level of success, ranked 16th in the overall ranking that includes state universities. At the end of the research, IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu was deemed worthy of the ‘Bronze Award’ for his successful and innovative work. Rector Abacıoğlu experienced great pride, becoming one of 12 rectors in Turkey to receive an award.
The 2025 University Satisfaction Survey for Turkey (TUMA) aimed to rank universities based on student satisfaction levels. In addition to the general evaluation, IUE was highlighted as one of the universities that met student expectations at a high level in various categories. Izmir University of Economics was evaluated with an ‘A+’, the highest possible grade, in the categories of ‘Satisfaction with institution's management and operation’ and ‘Richness of learning opportunities and resources’. Izmir University of Economics also received an ‘A’ grade in the area of ‘Richness of personal development and career support’.

IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu stated that the University's vision, education quality, and student-focused approach were decisive in achieving this success. Pointing out that they have been among the top 10 foundation universities in Turkey since 2023, making their success consistent, Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu said, “This success is the joint effort of our expert and dedicated academic staff, our strong administrative structure, and our students who trust us. As Izmir University of Economics, we prioritize not only academic success but also social, cultural, and individual development. We strive to create an environment where students can freely express their ideas and look to the future with hope. Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu also Reminding also that Izmir University of Economics made a significant leap and once again ranked first among foundation universities in the Aegean region in the 2025 Impact Ranking, prepared by the UK-based evaluation body Times Higher Education (THE) with sustainable development goals in mind, Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu said, “The results we have achieved in evaluations by independent organizations are an indication that we are on the right track as a university and that our steps are yielding results. As Izmir University of Economics, we are a university that does not merely produce knowledge; we make it a principle to use this knowledge for the benefit of society.
