SOLUTION PROVIDERS
The “3rd Industrial Engineering Project Fair and Problem Solving Contest among High Schools” was held by Izmir University of Economics, Department of Industrial Engineering. Students talked about their senior projects at TAV, Simeco, Phillip Morris, Özgörkey Feast Cake Studio, Ege Endüstri, Tuborg, Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, and BTM, presented their posters to the guests at the fair that took place at IUE Multi-Purpose Hall.
Ahmet Erdi Birlik, Ayşe Karataş, Nur Okan, and Recep Ender Gül came in first place with their "Kapasite ve Üretim Planlama (Capacity and Production Planning)" project poster they developed at Özgörkey Feast Cake Studio. Ahmet Eren Büyükçoban, Ali Dayıoğlu, Edip Ata Karamanlı, Gökçe Çiçek Aydın, Hande Nur Bayır, and Onur Samet Özdamar’s "Havaalanında Uçak-Kapı Ataması (Gate-Aircraft Assignment at Adnan Menderes Airport)" titled project poster for TAV came in second place, and Aslıhan Şengül, Melda Adıgüzel, Nazlı Aydoğan, Seda Ergün, Ali Berk Şirince, and Arda Pazır came in third place with their "Gazlı Ocak Tasarımı (Gas Burner Design)" project poster for Simeco.
‘Already Industrial Engineers’
Over 140 high school students from Gaziemir Nevvar Salih İşgören Anadolu High School, Manisa Hasan Türek Anadolu High School, İzmir Fen High School, Türk Private High Schools, İzmir Girls’ High School, Saint Joseph French Private High School, Rota Private High School, Karşıyaka Anadolu High School, Konak Anadolu High School, İzmir Atatürk High School, and Ege Private High School got information about departments and the university. 32 groups of four students attended the “Problem Solving Contest among High Schools’. The contestants tried to solve small samples of problems designed for industrial engineers.
İlke Torun, Fehmi Ayberk Uçkun, İrem Işık, and Özgür Er from İzmir Fen High School; İrem Noyan, Barkın Dural, Mert Kalender, and Burak Erermiş from Türk Private High Schools, and Berk Atıl, Berkay Çuhadar, Can Karaca, and Mehveş Özel from Ege Private High School shared the championship. Kaya Kapağan, Oğuz Mengücük, Çağatay Biçer, and Yiğit Yabaneri from Türk Private High Schools came in second place.
