‘New Year’ cookies by mini chefs

Children studying at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten fully embraced the New Year spirit by preparing fun and colorful ‘New Year cookies.’ Working alongside Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students, the mini chefs shaped vibrant sugar dough and decorated the cookies, impressing everyone with their creativity and talent.
Guided by Trainer Chef Belgin Bulgan of the ‘Fundamentals of Pastry and Dough Making’ class, the children worked with university students, asked questions, and experienced teamwork while having fun and learning. The kids spent an enjoyable day making cookies in various New Year-themed shapes, such as snowflakes, candy canes, snowmen, and New Year hats.
“CONTRIBUTES TO CHILDREN'S DEVELOPMENT”
Onur Kurtuluş Kara, Principal of IUE Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten, emphasized the importance of the activity in boosting children’s self-confidence and enhancing their skills. Kara said, “The kindergarten period is a critical time when children develop their personal abilities and discover their interests. Events like this not only increase their self-confidence but also help them gain social skills such as sharing, teamwork, and problem-solving. It is also highly beneficial for the development of motor skills. I believe this event supports these goals.”
Stating that activity was carried out under the leadership of Trainer Chef Belgin Bulgan, Kara said, “We extend our gratitude to all teachers and students who contributed to the development of our children. Together with our children, we wish everyone a very happy and wonderful year ahead.”
