Students can take maximum of 10-IUE credit (local credit), 3 courses in Summer School.
The amount to be paid instantly based on the IEU credits (local credits) of the course you have selected on the summer school course enrollment page will be calculated.
The total amount for the courses you have selected must be paid by 29 June 2026, 14.00, which is the deadline of summer school course enrollments. The selected courses will be displayed on the page until the payment is completed, but once the payment is completed, they will be included in the number of students requesting the course.
Payments can be made by credit card at "Online Payment" page as well as by stating the student number at any branch of VakıfBank. After the payment is completed, it will be automatically reflected in the system. Online payment link: https://www.ieu.edu.tr/tr/ogrenci-bilgi-sistemi
Changes can be made in the selected courses within the framework of academic rules until the end of the summer school course enrollments. Depending on the changes made, in case of a change in the amount to be paid, the difference must be paid by 29 June 2026, 14.00. After payment is completed, if you go back to the course selection page and click the “Finalize/Approve” button, the requested courses will be included in the total. Otherwise, only the paid courses will be considered selected.

Scholarship Students :
- Scholarships/discounts of students, who are placed with OSYS scholarship (full scholarship) quota, OSYS discount (50%, 25%), or international students with scholarship does not cover the summer school fees. In this case, these students pay for summer school fees in total.
- Academic merit scholarship is valid for the duration of academic year the student has been awarded, but the grant’s continuity is not guaranteed, and it does not cover summer school fees. Students with academic merit scholarship pay for summer school fees in total.
- Allocated scholarship does not cover summer school fees. In this case, these students pay for summer school fees in total.
- Discounts such as Sibling Discount, IZTO Members Discount, IUE and IZTO Members Discount, Preference Discount are only valid for actual education periods; they do not cover summer schools. Therefore, discounts are not used in summer school fees.
COURSES TO BE OFFERED AT SUMMER SCHOOL
The minimum number of students required for courses to be opened in summer school is determined by the Senate.
Accepted by the Senate upon the recommendation of the relevant faculty/school/vocational school board; it is not possible to open courses with success evaluation spread throughout the process, such as performance, projects, homework, thesis and portfolio, in Summer Schools.
The summer school curriculum will be programmed according to the courses that will be opened after the course selections are completed and will be announced in the Student Information System.
SUMMER SCHOOL COURSE ENROLLMENT RULES
- Students can take 10 IUE credits (local credits), 3 courses at most in Summer School.
- Students can request to take courses in place of the courses that are not offered in summer school. However, dropping out or withdrawing from a course in summer school is not applicable.
- Students with a GPA of 2.00 and above must take the below courses in order of priority, if any, in summer school:
- Failed courses (FF, FD, W, U) and non-attendance courses (NA),
- Courses from lower grade(s) they have not taken before, or courses from current grade they have not taken yet.
If the student has missing courses both from the lower grade and the grade he/she is in, the student can take a maximum of 3 courses with 10 IEU credits (local credits), regardless of the grade order of these courses. If these courses are not offered in the summer school or there are no courses in this scope, the student can take the course/courses that he/she has been successful in or the course/courses from upper grade in order to raise a maximum of 3 and 10 IEU credits (local credits).
- Students with a GPA of 1,50-1,99 at the end of first grade, 1,70-1,99 at the end of second grade, and 1,80-1,99 at the end of third grade must take the below courses in order of priority, if any, in summer school:
- Failed courses (FF, FD, W, U) and non-attendance courses (NA),
- Courses from lower grade(s) they have not taken before, or courses from current grade they have not taken yet.
- If the student has missing courses both from the lower grade and the grade he/she is in, the student can take a maximum of 3 courses with 10 IEU credits (local credits}, regardless of the grade order of these courses. If these courses are not offered in the summer school or there are no courses in this scope, the student can take the course/courses that he/she has been successful in or the course/courses from upper grade in order to raise a maximum of 3 and 10 IEU credits (local credits).
- Students with a GPA of below 1,50 at the end of first grade, below 1,70 at the end of second grade, and below 1,80 at the end of third grade must take the below courses in order of priority, if any, in summer school:
- Failed courses (FF, FD, W, U) and non-attendance courses (NA),
- Courses from lower grade(s) they have not taken before, or courses from current grade they have not taken yet.
- If the student has missing courses both from the lower grade and the grade he/she is in, the student can take a maximum of 3 courses with 10 IEU credits (local credits), regardless of the grade order of these courses. Students in this situation cannot take new courses from upper grade. However, they can take a new elective course instead of an elective course and a new General Education Course instead of a General Education Course they have taken from the upper grade failed in the past.
- Students who have enrolled in a new elective or General Education (GED) course in place of a previously failed elective or GED course are required to complete the relevant form provided below and email it to the departmental officer at the Office of Student Affairs.
- In summer school, the final grade in the courses that were failed in the previous semesters or taken to increase the grade is valid. Students should take this into consideration when selecting courses at Summer School.
- Grades obtained at the end of summer school are included in the GPA. The GPA at the end of the summer school is taken into consideration in determining the courses they will take and the course load following the summer school, and they will be subject to the provisions of the relevant regulation.
REQUIREMENTS FOR TAKING COURSES AT OTHER UNIVERSITIES AT SUMMER SCHOOL
It is not allowed to take courses at other universities during the summer school of English preparatory class and graduate courses.
In order for Izmir University of Economics associate and undergraduate students to take courses in summer school from another University, they must be at the graduation stage at the end of the courses they want to take.
Associate and undergraduate students who are not at the graduation stage, studying in interim grades, can be permitted to take courses only from universities abroad (except TRNC) whose equivalence is accepted by the Council of Higher Education and approved by the academic advisor and the Department Head. These students are also required to complete the approval process before going to a university abroad. Otherwise, the grade of the course taken from the other University will not be issued on the transcript.
For a course that is not offered in summer school, after examining the ECTS credits and content of the course, it may be allowed to be taken from another university with the approval of the relevant department, provided that the following points are complied with:
- Courses offered in Izmir University of Economics during the summer school cannot be taken from another university. In the event that the course not being offered, an application must be made to the Department Head with a petition at the latest in the first week of Izmir University of Economics summer school classes begin. Otherwise, the grade of the course taken from the other University will not be issued on the transcript.
- The medium of instruction of the course must be the same as the medium of instruction of the program or course in which it is registered.
- Courses cannot be taken from distance education or open education programs.
- Graduation project, semester project, internship and similar courses and courses that are continued under the supervision of an instructor without being subject to a certain syllabus cannot be taken.
- The grades of the students, who take courses from another higher education institution in summer school, are adapted and transferred to their transcripts by the decision of the relevant administrative board.
- If the grade taken in the courses allowed to be taken from other universities in the summer school corresponds to the minimum success grade in the regulations, bylaws, procedures and principles of Izmir University of Economics, the student can be considered successful in that course.
NON-IEU STUDENTS WHO WANT TO ENROLL TO IEU SUMMER SCHOOL
Students from other universities can also benefit from IUE Summer School. Students from other universities, who want to enroll to IUE Summer School, need to forward the following documents to melisa.iscan@ieu.edu.tr and irem.betul@ieu.edu.tr and submit the originals to Student Affairs Directorate, Izmir University of Economics.

Exchange programs and special students

(1) Special students are students who are not enrolled in an associate or undergraduate program at the University, are enrolled in a higher education institution in the country or abroad, and are expected to fulfill the requirements of these courses by enrolling in a limited number of courses.
(2) Students studying in programs where the medium of instruction is Turkish must certify that their foreign language level meets the proficiency requirements determined by the Senate in order to take courses from programs where the medium of instruction is foreign language.
