IUE ATTENDS THE INTERNATIONAL SYNDICATE FORMED FOR INTERNATIONAL JOINT MASTER AND DOCTORAL PROGRAMS
Prof. Dr. Kazım Khan, one of the leading names in the field of mathematics and the coordinator of Kent State University financial mathematics master’s programs came to Izmir University of Economics as the invited guest of Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Science and Literature Dean Prof. Dr. İsmihan Bayramoğlu. Khan gave some information about the works executed, and said “I saw that the financial mathematics and statistics master’s programs which attract attention in Turkey and in the world nowadays are being executed successfully in Izmir University of Economics, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. We are ready to give necessary support for the development of these programs.”
Syndicate member universities will be able to exchange graduate and postgraduate students and it will be possible to give a diploma with the names of both universities written on it. Thus, the students that are graduated from the master’s and doctoral programs of these universities will increase their job opportunities. If one of these university’s program has wider opportunities, other universities will be able to utilize this program. Moreover, the lecturers will be able to be the advisors of the same student and lecturer exchange will be possible with this syndicate. One of the most important aims of the syndicate is to promote distance education with internet technology by forming the necessary substructure. The students of the syndicate member universities will be able to attend the courses in special classes, answer the questions of the lecturer and take the exams of the courses they have been following through internet.
Ibaraki University from Japan, Bucharest University from Romania, Georgia Institute of Technology from America and others will be candidates of the syndicate, and Izmir University of Economics, TOBB (Turkish Union of Chambers and Stock Exchanges) University of Economics and Technology, Bilkent University and Ankara University from Turkey will take place in the syndicate leaded by Kent State University.
