BOLOGNA PROCESS AT IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS GAINED SPEED
In the first phase of the program, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design academicians got together with sector representatives. In the meeting attended by design studios, companies, public and private sector foundations and trade associations, the expectations from the graduates of the department are discussed.
Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design lecturer Asst. Prof. Emre Ergül stated that the meeting would offer an insight to determine the aim of the program, which was the first phase of the Bologna Process, and said, “Bologna Process is made up of 4 phases. The first phase is to determine the aims of the program. The second phase is to renew the courses in line with the European Union credit transfer system. The third phase is to implement the renewed course system to the university and the last phase is trial that will last a year. We first aimed to get together with sector representatives and offer realistic solutions in parallel with the employment needs." IUE Board of Trustees Member Akın Kazançoğlu, IUE Secretary General Leven Gökçeer, Interior Architects Association İzmir Branch Chairperson Filiz Ultav, Head of Department Asst. Prof. Markus Wilsing and many sector representatives and academicians attended the meeting.
IUE Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design carried on the series of meetings with graduates and students. Asst. Prof. Ergül said that they wanted to adapt Bologna Process by making use of the sector experiences of the graduates.
