‘Alumni Talks’ Series Kicks Off

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has launched the “Alumni Talks” series to bring together its graduates, who have stepped into professional life and achieved exemplary success both in Turkey and abroad, with students from across the country. The online talks, which started on March 3 and will continue until May, will host 14 distinguished alumni who have either founded their own businesses or reached leadership positions in their sectors. Experts from diverse fields such as communication, engineering, fashion, law, psychology, and logistics will share their inspiring career journeys and experiences with young participants, while also answering students’ questions.

All events, organized under the theme ‘Discovering My Profession’, will be open not only to members of IUE but also to external participants. Detailed information about the programs will be available on the University’s social media accounts and on the website of the IUE Alumni Relations Office, where participants can easily register via the provided link.

“THEY WILL DRAW THE RIGHT CAREER PATH”

Emphasizing the importance of the ‘Alumni Talks’ series in helping young people shape the right career path, Özge Kulaçoğlu, Coordinator of the Alumni Relations Office within the IUE Dean of Students Office, said, “Students who attend the Alumni Talks will have the opportunity to closely learn about different professions by listening to the real-life experiences of our alumni who have achieved success in various sectors. This will help them evaluate their career options more accurately and determine a direction that aligns with their interests. We expect a high level of participation in this year’s events.”

Kulaçoğlu also highlighted that the Alumni Talks serve as a meeting platform that strengthens the sense of belonging to the University and builds connections between generations. Kulaçoğlu continued as follows, “The voluntary contribution of our alumni to this process demonstrates how strong and supportive the IUE community truly is. We see this series as an important step that expands our University’s engagement with society and creates a sustainable interaction space among our alumni, students, and external stakeholders. By being open to participants from all across Turkey, the ‘Alumni Talks’ series will also serve as a platform that brings the knowledge and values of IUE to wider audiences and supports the University’s institutional image.”
