IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS IS A WORLD UNIVERSITY
Apart from the 17 students that came to our University with the scholarship provided by the University to EXPO member countries, Mediterranean countries, Turkic Republics and Relative Unions, 11 student from European countries came to the University in the scope of the Erasmus Student Exchange Program and 26 students preferred İzmir University of Economics to get education by paying the tuition fee.
IUE Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that they aimed to have a world university in İzmir and they were happy to achieve this in 8 years and said "This lays a bigger burden on us. We know that there are lots of things to do to be one of the most qualified foundation universities in Turkey on one side and to be a real world university on the other side. The ones who pursue their dreams and work for them can succeed to make their dreams come true. The place we are in after 8 years shows us that we are on the right road. We will continue to take firm steps forward.”
İzmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin said that with the students coming from Asia, Africa, Europe and American Continent they were close to the colorfulness of the United Nations. He said “Last year we applied to EUA—European University Association’s ‘Institutional Evaluation Program’. We will be the third university in Turkey that successfully completes this program. With this confidence, we totally focused on being an international university. Each year, we will increase the number of the foreign academician and student at the University. We also work to have more students coming in the scope of Student Exchange Program Erasmus."
