A SPECTACULAR FASHION SHOW FROM THE DESIGNERS OF THE FUTURE
The choreography of the fashion show made up of the creations of 22 graduate students of İzmir University of Economics Department of Fashion Design is made by Uğurkan Erez. 26 models including Ece Sükan, Irmak Atuk, Hande Subaşı, Özge Ulusoy, Merve Büyüksaraç, Tuğba Karaca , Senem Kuyucuoğlu, Nur Gümüşdoğrayan, Alona Kral, Duygu Akdeniz from İzmir and İstanbul took place in the show. 110 clothes in ready-made clothing, high street fashion, and couture are presented in “Trans2010-Re Composition” main theme.
IUE Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that he was proud of the success of the students and said “Doyen Vitali Hakko has said 'İzmir is the leader of fashion, a fashion school need to be established there'. We opened department of fashion design with the same faith. In our first graduation, we were alone and sad since we were not known much. However, the success of our students changed everything in a short time. Today, we are one of the schools that direct fashion. I congratulate both our students and the academic staff that raised them. With their success, they prove the decisions we made and make us proud.”
Head of Department of Fashion Design Asst. Prof. Şölen Kipöz stated that the creations of the students were evaluated by famous fashion designers and said “During the education process, we get students and professionals together in workshops and seminars. Besides, as in each year, this year our fashion show is in professional hands. We step forward this year and we included the best names of fashion world in the evaluation process. Thus, we both made ourselves more transparent and professional life began before graduation for students."
