ITALIAN BREEZE IN İZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS
Italian Language Coordinator Buket Kasalı that provided this exhibition to take place at İzmir University of Economics said “In a moment that you think that you know a society very well, a window to another perspective of that same society opens and reveals the truth that you cannot immediately know a cultural texture that develops in thousands of years. That is what I experienced when I saw Marco Rodolfo Crillissi’s exhibition.”
Photograph artist Crillissi said that he shared these photographs in the exhibition for the first time with people; he also said that he was fascinated with the friendship and hospitality in Turkey and he wanted to exhibit photographs from Turkey in his next exhibition which will also take place in İzmir University of Economics.
IUE Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cemali Dinçer who opened the exhibition and gave a plaquette to the artist said “I saw that people, nature and culture themes in the exhibition are very similar to the Turkish ones, they are like our people, like our nature. This shows how close our cultures are and how deep-rooted our friendship is.”
Italian Consul Simon Carta said “There is a comprehensive Italian language education in İzmir University of Economics. I thank to the authorities in the university who mediate this culture exchange and I am very proud that an artist from my country is being hosted in here.”
The exhibition can be visited until October 30, 2008 at İzmir University of Economics Balçova Campus.
