IUE FOLK DANCE TRAINER TEOMAN DALCI WILL REPRESENT TURKEY IN SOUTH KOREA
International Drums and Folk Art Festival, aiming to get the rhythms of different countries together and international cultural sharing is organized by South Korea’s world-famous percussion group HATA.
In the festival, Izmir University of Economics Folk Dance Trainer Teoman Dalcı will represent Turkey with percussion instruments peculiar to our country. Dalcı is invited again to the festival after the keen interest in the last year’s festival. Dalcı said”Drums are very important in Far East culture. We are going to present them the examples of “aksak” pattern by drums, tabor, spoon and bendir which they are not familiar with. It is so interesting for them to see us play the drums by our hands while other countries use sticks. Dalcı stated that this year they have prepared a rhythm show with demijohns and water bottles and said “We hope they will like this show.”
Teoman Dalcı said that they carry on their training with Izmir University of Economics Folk Dances Club and Rhythm Group, and they aim to attend the festivals abroad and introduce Turkish dances to the world.
