IUE WELCOMES ITS NEW STUDENTS

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) opened its doors to new students. Students, who enrolled to the University just before the start of the new academic year, were welcomed to school by Prof. Dr. Tunçdan Baltacıoğlu, the Rector of IUE. During the registration process that took place at IUE Conference Hall, Baltacıoğlu accompanied the future leading names of the business world, and chatted with students and became part of their dreams.
Students, who were placed into the 9 faculties and 2 vocational schools, will begin the new academic year. Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Health Management, Computer Programming and Occupational Health and Safety programs of Vocational School, and Medical Documentation and Secretariat program of Vocational School of Health Services enrolled its first students this year. In 2013 - 2014 Academic Year, one thousand 218 undergraduate degree students and 214 associate degree students will take their first steps to future at IUE.
In addition to the 34 undergraduate and 10 associate programs offered within the University, Departments of “Fashion and Textile Design” and “Culinary Arts and Management”, which enrol students through aptitude test, will be providing a high quality education to its students. Also, dual diploma programs in 7 undergraduate programs conducted jointly with USA-(SUNNY) State University of New York, ERASMUS student exchange agreements with 104 universities abroad, and academic cooperation with 27 universities, will have a significant effect on allowing students to shape their future.
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Tunçdan Baltacıoğlu pointed out that the students who came to register were indeed aware of a high quality education they would be receiving at IUE. Prof. Dr. Baltacıoğlu said, “Students state that they prefer our university because of this reason also. We will be raising the future health managers, civil engineers in our new departments. Students will start education at Medical Documentation and Secretariat, Elderly Care Services, and Occupational Health and Safety programs for the first time. As IUE, we feel the well-deserved pride of bringing up participative, innovative, perfectionist youth who is aware of their social responsibilities through the quality of education we offer and changes we bring to higher education life.”
