THE YOUNG TRANSLATOR IS ON HER WAY TO BRUSSELS
Merve Avşaroğlu, who participated in the “Young Translators” competition held by Ministry for EU Affairs, received her second prize from Egemen Bağış, Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU Affairs. Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Art and Science, Department of Translation and Interpretation student Merve Avşaroğlu, will be representing Turkey at Brussels on March 22-24.
Avşaroğlu has achieved a phenomenal success, by leaving 94 students from 21 universities behind, at the competition which was held for the second time this year in order to contribute to train translators who play an important role during Turkey’s European Union accession period.
Merve Avşaroğlu, who ranked second at the competition with an outstanding performance, will be visiting translation departments of EU institutions based in Brussels together with 9 other students who have also made ranks in the “Young Translators” competition.
