A TURKISH SIGN IN THE CENTER OF DESIGN

İzmir University of Economics student Enver Tatlısu attended to the leading design competition of Germany Faces of Design with his graduation project and had an important success.
The competition participated by more than 200 people in the countries of Europe as well as the professionals from Korea and China, has an important role in the field of design. In the first round of the competition, 29 best projects are chosen by elimination, in the finals of the Faces of Design, the best 6 are chosen and the winner is announced. İzmir University of Economics, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Industrial Design student Enver Tatlısu had an important success in the competition that he participated with his graduation project.
Enver Tatlısu stated that he had attended the competition with 3 projects in the first round and he added new projects in the second round. He said, “I attended the project with my graduation project about wheeled chair, my 3rd grade furniture design project that presents the traditional habit of the Turkish people, dining on the floor in a modern design, and scotch tape dispenser that the students can use. In the second phase, I presented the laptop computer I deigned while doing internship in Vestel and the shopping trolley designed for public markets. I thank a lot to the Head of Department of Industrial Design Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Can Özcan who insisted on me to participate in the competition."
Tatlısu stated that the designs that won this competition would be published on the periodicals in Europe and that was very important for his professional development. Tatlısu said, “There are thousands of producers and academicians in the database of the Faces of Design organization. The profiles of the winners will be sent to these people and they will be recognized. They will also take place in the design periodicals published in Europe. Thus, this is an important competition in order to be known abroad. I am very happy to have won.”
