İzmir University of Economics is in the League of Giants
İzmir University of Economics Continuous Education Center (EKOSEM) achieved a big success and accepted to European Association for University Lifelong Learning (EUCEN). The education programs and activities of EKOSEM are evaluated and it is accepted to membership in the last meeting of EUCEN.
The largest multidisciplinary association about Continuous Education in Europe is registered in Belgium and has 112 members from 40 countries. Universities like Oxford in England, Sorbonne in France, Roma in Italy, Madrid in Spain and Hamburg in Germany are the members of EUCEN, which is the largest multidisciplinary association in Europe that is founded to develop and improve continuous education in higher education institutions.
EKOSEM Director Asst. Prof. Yiğit Kazançoğlu stated that EUCEN aimed to contribute to te economic and cultural life of Europe and said, “The primary aim of the association is to increase the affect of universities in shaping the knowledge and policies about continuous education and to contribute to the cultural and social life of Europe. The association tries to generalize the innovations and best practices in the higher education and continuous education in Europe, implement quality in continuous education, represent the benefits of the society, provide cooperation between the institutions, and make researches in this field.”
Asst. Prof. Yiğit Kazançoğlu underlined that İzmir University of Economics was the university of innovations and it succeeded to be one of the well-established educational institutions although it was very young saying, "We are very proud to see that İzmir University of Economics showed this success. With our membership to EUCEN, the educations we give will be diversified and increased. We will continue to our works with the programs that we contribute to the professional development of our students and trainees.”
