IUE IS IN THE EUROPEAN LEAGUE
In a ceremony organized in Belgium, İzmir University of Economics received the “Diploma Supplement Label” awarded by the European Commission and that enables students to work in Europe after graduation. IUE had a big success for Turkey by receiving the “Diploma Supplement Label” awarded to only 54 universities in Europe. With this success, IUE got into the excellent universities book prepared by the EU Commission.
İzmir University of Economics is one of the universities that received “Diploma Supplement Label” awarded by the European Commission which is a sign of quality in universities. With 4 newly added universities, 11 universities in Turkey received this document and with “Diploma Supplement Label”, the graduates of İzmir University of Economics received the right to work in European countries. İzmir University of Economics, which is awarded “Diploma Supplement Label” in June 2010, received the document in the ceremony organized in Antwerp, Belgium. The European Commission awarded the “Diploma Supplement Label” document to İzmir University of Economics Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen in the award ceremony.
It will be the key of the graduates
In the award ceremony attended by many rectors and high-level guests, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen stated his happiness in receiving the document in the name of İzmir University of Economics and said, “The aim of the Diploma Supplement is to make it easier for graduates to find jobs on the international labor market. In the globalized world, one of the most important problems of the graduates is to provide the international recognition of their diplomas. The Diploma Supplement Label that we receive will be the basic key for the international recognition of our graduates. The quality level of the university they receive education at, the knowledge and information they attain are proven by this document."
3rd Foundation University
Together with İzmir University of Economics, this year Anadolu University, İzmir Institute of Technology and Marmara University also received Diploma Supplement Label. Diploma Supplement Label was also awarded to Bilkent University, Ege University, Gebze Institute of Technology, Karadeniz Technical University, Middle East Technical University, Sabancı University, and Sakarya University before. Among 51 foundation universities in Turkey, İzmir University of Economics is the 3rd foundation university that received Diploma Supplement Label.
What is Diploma Supplement Label?
Diploma Supplement is a document attached to a higher education diploma aiming at improving international ‘transparency’ and at facilitating the academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.). Diploma Supplement Label is issued by national institutions in accordance with the template developed collectively by European Commission, Council of Europe, and UNESCO. The document that is developed by the council organized by these three institutions is prepared in all official languages and issued to the graduates of the universities that are involved in the process.
