The Second 'AI in Education' Workshop Was Successfully Held
Izmir University of Economics continues its efforts to promote the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in teaching and learning processes, in line with its transformation vision in educational technologies. Within this scope, the second “AI in Education” Workshop, organized under the leadership of the Teaching and Learning Center (EKOEĞİTİM–TLC), was successfully held on January 21, 2026.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND EDUCATION
The workshop began with an opening speech delivered by Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Filiz Başkan. This was followed by a presentation by Asst. Prof. Esin Çağlayan, Director of EKOEĞİTİM–TLC, who shared the aim and scope of the workshop and highlighted current developments regarding the use of artificial intelligence in higher education. Throughout the event, the pedagogical use of AI tools in education was discussed through up-to-date examples and hands-on workshop activities.
A PROGRAM ENRICHED WİTH PRESENTATİONS AND WORKSHOPS
During the presentations and workshop sessions, Lect. Burak Evrentuğ, Asst. Prof. Çağkan Uludağlı, Asst. Prof. Ayça Kumluca Topallı, Asst. Prof. Sarphan Uzunoğlu, and Res. Assist. Turan Kocakaya shared their knowledge and experiences on the use of AI tools in teaching and learning processes. Through example practices using various generative AI tools, different use cases were explored, focusing on how these technologies can be adapted to instructional processes across different course contexts.
SHARING GOOG PRACTICES WİLL CONTINUE
The presentations and hands-on workshop activities provided participants with opportunities to gain experience in using AI tools in teaching processes and to reflect on good practice examples. This workshop series led by EKOEĞİTİM–TLC is expected to continue contributing to AI-supported learning design and assessment approaches in higher education.
