WHO WOULD LIKE TO FIND JOB MORE QUICKLY?
IUE students showed great interest in the panel organized by Economics Club.
Taylan Demirkaya who is also an instructor at İzmir University of Economics underlined the fact that the anxieties in education were continuing after graduation with the process of looking for a job. With his entertaining style, Demirkaya gave examples from his own life. Demirkaya stated that one had to take lessons from failures and said that even though he was not very successful as a student, he had a successful business life.
Moreover, Demirkaya gave advices for the students who were about the graduate. Here are some advices for the process of looking for a job that you cannot find in books or search engines:
“- Looking for a job decreases the chance of finding a job. Instead of looking for a job in a panic, ask yourself: "Why would they hire me?"
- Do not forget that anyone can write a resume. The reality can be understood while working.
- Ask yourself a question the answer of which can never change. My advice, “How can I be happy?”
- Chat with the people around you.
- Make time for yourself.
- Ask the two basic questions of the life: “How and why?” But first learn how to ask question.
- Do not be afraid of messing up and asking for help”
