FFAD STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN IMOB’09 WITH THEIR PROJECTS
IMOB is the most important and largest furniture fair in Eurasia, in which the most well known brands come together, and new targets of the industry is determined. It also has a great importance for the young designers, by providing the opportunities for them to get in contact with the industry. Due to the successes achieved by Department of Industrial Design and Department of Interor Architecture and Environmental Design in the previous years, IUE has been invited to participate in this important event 3rd time this year.
Students’ projects designed and developed in the concept of “Contemporary Nomads”, during the Furniture Design Course (FFD301), which is a common course realized by Industrial Design and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, have been exhibited during the fair in MOSDER Stand and attracted visitors attention.
In the conceptual design process of the projects exhibited in the fair, ID and IAED students have analyzed the new habits and practices of present daily life, which are mostly transformed into a "mobile" form, because of the necessities of our modern lives in this global world, and influenced with the easiness of accessing to everything and facilities of fast travelling. Students have defined their user groups, according to their concepts and subjects developed throughout these analyses. They have determined the needs and problems of these groups, and designed furnitures for these user groups, aiming to provide solutions for those problems.
