Students of Department of Logistics Management, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), received their certificates for “SAP” system training on production, stock, materials, and follow up of personnel. 37 students, who received in-depth training on the software used by companies for production, stocking, number of products sold, and materials purchased, entered the business world.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Aysu Göçer, Lecturer, IUE Department of Logistics Management, gave information about the course and she said that the students learned about enterprise resource planning not only theoretically but also practically. “Our students, who successfully completed the corporate applications and university collaboration course with software company SAP, received their certificates. IUE has become the first member of SAP-University Collaboration Program in Izmir with the support of Ekrem Demirtaş, President of IUE Board of Trustees. We were able to provide an interactive learning environment for students by using the most current SAP systems in our courses. Our students had an easier and more advantageous access to SAP certification programs,” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Göçer.
Today, many enterprises used the system, and students, with this certification, started a step ahead in terms of career and employment opportunities, said Göçer. She reported that the system was being taught as part of the Supply Chain and Logistics Information Systems course. Students received certificates on SAP Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Warehouse Management (WM), Sales and Distribution Management (SD), and Customer Services Management modules, said Asst. Prof. Dr. Göçer and added that the certificate allowed students to seek employment on a variety of positions such as production, sales and distribution, human resources, finance, quality management, materials management, and many more.
