A CONFERENCE ENTITLED “THE EFFECTS OF EU ENLARGEMENT PROCESS TO WORKFORCE MARKET” IS ORGANIZED AT IUE IN THE SCOPE OF ARTEMIS PROJECT
The second Conference among Neighbor countries in the scope of the Artemis Project is organized at IUE. Turkish and Greek specialists attended the conference about effects of EU enlargement process to workforce market”.
In the conference chaired by Prof. Dr. Erhan Ada, in the session that the political and economical effects of European Union’s enlargement process were discussed, the Scientific director of GSEE Workforce Institute Prof. Dr. Rompolis Savas made a speech entitled “New Development Model: A EU Enlargement which is integrated in economical and social aspects”, Artemis Project Coordinator Menelaos Theodoroulakis made a speech entitled “Political Effects of EU Enlargement”, Koutsikos Panagiotis made a speech entitled “Economical Cooperation Chances between Bulgaria and Greece”, and Birol Efe from Izmir Chamber of Commerce made a speech entitled “Economical Cooperation between Turkey and Greece.”

In the session chaired by Prof. Dr. Osman Aydoğuş, workforce and employment subjects were discussed. In this session Anda Stamati made a speech entitled “The Relocation of Business Enterprises in EU and its effects in terms of Workforce Relations”, UEHR Director Prof. Dr. Clive Richardson made a speech entitled “Innovation, Rivalry and Employment”, GSEE Education Director Christos Goulas made a speech entitled “Evaluating Vocational Training as a Politics in Increasing Employment”, and Asst. Prof. Gonca Günay From Izmir University of Economics made a speech entitled “Workforce Market in Turkey and its Expansion.”
In the process of EU Enlargement, Artemis Project aims to develop the education level and vocational skills of regional workforce. In this respect, through encouraging employment, it is aimed to increase the competitive power of the region, contribute to strengthen its socioeconomic connections, increase cross-border cooperation between employees, employers, and education and research institutions.
The project covers the regions of Greece that are neighbors of Turkey and Bulgaria, Middle and East Macedonia, Thrace, North and South of Aegean Region, Turkey and Greece.
