Yalçın, who contributes to training of new math geniuses in IUE as an academician, is planning to do her postdoctoral study abroad in the near future with the support of TUBITAK. Throughout her doctoral studies, Femin Yalçın received scholarship from Tubitak Department of Science Fellowships and Grant Programs-2211 National Scholarship Programme for Ph.D. students, and she got accepted by many universities in Europe and America for her postdoctoral studies.
With her “Run Statistics in a sequence of dependent trials and distribution of run statistics theory” titled thesis, Yalçın contributed majorly in applied statistics field. Yalçın stated, “After completing my undergraduate study, I enrolled at the integrated doctoral program offered within IUE Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. I was able to finish the five year program in four years. System reliability, hypothesis testing, and risk management are among the field of applications for my studies. Three of my articles during my doctoral studies were published in SCI indexed international journals which are Metrika, Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics and IEEE Transactions on Reliability.”
Yalçın also indicated that she attended many international conferences as a research assistant supported by IUE as part of academic travel initiatives. She said she was lucky to be working with Prof. Dr. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, a world-renowned lecturer in math and statistics.
