DREAMING OF AN ECO-FRIENDLY EXPO

Total of 60 students from 6 different countries as part of ERASMUS exchange program and 30 national and foreign national academicians, in addition to the students of IUE and Gazi University attended the organization. Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Hasırcı, Head of IUE Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, who stated that students of architecture and interior architecture worked in collaboration, said:
“We conducted six different workshops on healthy cities, healthy environments, and re-thinking public spaces themes. The seminar was organized as part of Lifelong Learning Programme which was supported by European Union Education and Youth Programmes-Erasmus Intensive Programmes (IP). 10 academicians attended the workshops as commentators. The focus point was the EXPO Area planned to be set up in Inciraltı. Interior architecture and architecture are disciplines that work on different scales. So the different points of views were reflected on the projects. Our students created environment friendly projects through cultural changes. We also combined our mission which is design for everyone with EXPO 2020 theme, health for everyone. The outcome was different environment friendly projects.”
