OCCUPATIONAL COURSE BY THE GRADUATES
Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design brought the students together with the IUE graduates.
Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design organized a “Professional Life after Graduation” themed seminar within the scope of Applied Workshop in IAED II course where they invited the graduate students. The graduates Oylum Dikmen, Duygu Kanbul, Zeynep Aldemir, Kerem Özerler, Sıddık Erdoğan, Sinecan Cirişoğlu, and Dilek Akgün, livened up the course for the IAED senior students.
The young architects, who began their career after graduation, talked about their experiences and about the transition period to professional life. They also shared their experiences on subjects such as academic career, starting their own business, working freelance, and working at a design office. Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Hasırcı, Department Head of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, stated that bringing the graduates together with senior students has been very successful. She said, “We usually invite more experienced names in the field within this course. This time we invited our own graduates and it has been a very successful presentation. It has been very enlightening for the students. We will try to bring them together more often”.
