PASSPORTS ARE GIVEN BY IUE
The European Language Portfolio and Language Passport, standardized by European Commission, is given to students after classes held in Izmir University of Economics. Within this framework, in cooperation with Balçova District National Education Directorate, 175 students were taken education in 7 languages and they were given European Language Portfolio and Passport within the scope of Leonardo da Vinci Program.
Within the scope of Leonardo da Vinci Program, in cooperation with Ahmet Hakkı Balcıoğlu Vocational School, Balçova Anadolu High School, Sacide Ayaz High School, Salih Dede High School and Nevvar Salih İşgören High School, 175 students were taken education in 7 languages by Izmir University of Economics scholars. They completed their classes successfully and they took their European Language Portfolio under the sponsorship of Goethe Institute in Izmir.
The School of Foreign Languages scholar and the Coordinator of Leonardo da Vinci Program, Asst. Prof. Sevinç Mesbah pointed out that Language Portfolio was prepared by European Commission meticulously and it includes chapters of language passport, language CV and file. She also added that “By showing the levels of foreign language learning, portfolios help to understand the language levels. It also keeps the certificates and diplomas gained with the language education and it also creates an important instrument for motivation and self-learning. With this project, we will give Europe Language Portfolio including language passport to 175 students.”
