IUE CONQUERED JAPAN
İzmir University of Economics raises students that are outstanding with their social abilities as well as the qualified education they receive at the university. 62 clubs established in accordance with the requests of the students organize various activities throughout the year. The students had the chance to discover Japan, in the scope of the "Japan Culture Tour" organized for the first time by the Japanese Club.
25 students that attended the trip that lasted 15 days had the chance to learn about the Japanese culture and history and they practice their second foreign language. In the 2-week trip, the students saw Tokyo Tower, Akihabara, Ginza, Asakusa, Shinjuku, Nagamachi Samurai District, Kinkakuji Temple and one of the 3 biggest gardens of the world, Kenrokuen, Nara Parl and Kyoto.
Japanese instructor Senem Erbaş stated that they made something new in this year and said, “We plan to organize this trip each year. The second foreign language that the students learn are very effective in preparing the students to the future and it creates an opportunity for them to find a job. We try to provide opportunities for them to reach their aims and organize such trips to broaden their horizon.”
