TURKISH DELEGATION IN IRAQ
In the second parliament elections made after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003, with the Turkish delegation made up of 46 representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and academicians, Turkey became the second country after the USA that is represented by most people.
In the elections that took place in an environment where violence increases, Turkish election supervision mission worked under intensive security measures. Iraqi people showed great attention and hospitality to the Turkish delegation, which supervised the elections as the official guest of Iraqi government.
Bağdadi and Arslan who worked in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan with Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe election supervision delegations exchanged views about Turkey-Iraq relations with the candidates and ministry of foreign affairs members.
Bağdadi and Arslan said that they were planning to visit the region in following months upon the kind invitation of our Baghdad Ambassador Murat Özçelik to carry out academic studies on Iraq.
