Yıldız Kenter and Talat Halman Read the Most Beautiful Turkish Love Poems
Kenter and Halman made the guests feel melancholic from time to time and they sometimes cheered them up with romantic, mystic, lyric and satiric love poems with a wide range beginning from 6th century to today. While Yıldız Kenter was reading the first love poem of the world found by an American sumerologist in Anatolia, Talat Halman read some examples of poems that were about the goddesses started war in the cause of their loves.
The guests applauded the artists that presented the most beautiful love poems from Mevlana to Yunus Emre. The poems written to his wife by Kanuni Sultan Suleyman, who claimed himself to be the sultan of love are also read by the presenters. TRT Radio musicians under the management of Turkish Republic, Ministry of Culture artist Nursal Ünsal Birtek accompanied Kenter and Halman with zither, lute, reed flute, drum and fiddle. The listeners sang the love songs such as; “Gel Gör Beni Aşk Neyledi” and “Katibim” together with the musicians.
Yıldız Kenter and Talat Halman made the night unforgettable by reading the most beautiful love poems of the famous poets Tevfik Fikret, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Ahmet Haşim, Fazı Hüsnü Dağlarca, Orhan Veli Kanık, Nazım Hikmet, Behçet Necatigil and Atilla İlhan.
