Champion without loosing a set
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Women's Volleyball Team won all five matches they played in the Izmir Regional Championship held among universities with a score of 3-0 without losing a single set, thus becoming the champions. Demonstrating a significant advantage over their opponents, the young players from Izmir University of Economics achieved an impressive series of victories and thoroughly enjoyed the joy of winning the cup. Izmir University of Economics has earned the right to compete in the final stages of the Inter-universities Volleyball Turkey Championship.
Izmir University of Economics Women's Volleyball Team, which defeated Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE), Izmir Bakırçay University, Dokuz Eylül University (DEU), and Izmir Tınaztepe University in succession at the Izmir Regional Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation, faced Izmir Katip Çelebi University in their final group match. Hosted at DEU's Tınaztepe Campus, IUE started the match quickly and finished the first set ahead 25-10.
PLENTY OF PHOTOS WITH THE TROPHY
Maintaining its dominance throughout the match, Izmir University of Economics Women's Volleyball Team won the second set 25-5 and the final set 25-11, securing a 3-0 victory and claiming the championship title. As the final whistle blew, the young players celebrated their championship triumph by hugging each other and singing songs, taking plenty of photos with the trophy.

IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu, who met with the team before the final match to wish the students success, said in his statement after the championship, “Our students’ success is the most beautiful demonstration of their disciplined work, determination, and team spirit. We wholeheartedly congratulate all the athletes who represented our University at the highest level and are proud of them. IUE students can overcome any obstacle and reach any summit if they set their minds to it. I am fully confident that they will demonstrate the same success in the matches they will play in the Turkish championship. As a University, we will always stand by our students.”
‘DETERMINATION’ AND ‘HARMONY’ BROUGHT SUCCESS
IUE Sports Coordinator Murat Palalı stated that their months of dedicated work had paid off. Palalı said, “Our team, which worked very hard in training and never compromised on discipline or goals, more than delivered on the field. Winning all five matches without loosing a set is not easy. This result is a product of both our athletes’ determination and the harmony within the team. Witnessing our players’ development and bringing them to this point is a great source of pride for us. I would like to congratulate the entire technical team, who contributed to this process, and all the teams that participated in the championship for their fair play. Now our eyes are on the Turkish championship. We will prepare with the same energy and concentration to represent our university in the best possible way.”
