EDUCATION COUNSELOR ŞENER AT İZMİR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS
ŞENER: “THE STUDENTS MUST BE CONSCIOUS IN THE NEW SYSTEM”
In the meeting that took place in İzmir University of Economics Conference Hall, Şener made explanations about examination stress, lack of motivation, grading, questioning system, etc. Şener stated that the students had to be conscious in new OSS system and said, “In the new system the students must have decided what they wanted to do and be conscious. They have to form the strategy they will use in the system.”
Şener compared the two examination systems and said that the new system was in favor of the student who studies. “Even though it has some deficiencies the new system is more beneficial than the old one." said he. Şener pointed out that the in the new system the effect of AOBP was less.
Şener said that if a student wanted to make preference other than his/her own field, s/he had to solve the questions of the both in the second examination.. He said, “It is a burden for the student. Although it seems that the new system makes it easier, in fact it does not let everyone make preference other than his/her own field. It only encourages the students who want to make preference other than their own field."
At the end of his speech Cihat Şener said, “I have only one advice for the students. You do your own job and I will do mine. In the end, if your answers are not true these calculations have no meaning. Your job is to solve as many questions as you can. Let us do all these calculations."
