EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEED EDUCATION FROM İZMİR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND TESCO KİPA
The cooperation protocol implemented by the ceremony organized in IUE Conference Hall is signed by the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Cemali Dinçer, Tesco Kipa CEO Simon King, Legal and Corporate Affairs Director Yılmaz Attila, Human Resources Director M. Remzi Kıraç, Region Director Suat Demirel. In the ceremony 34 manager candidates of Tesco Kipa that completed “Introduction to Retail Management Program” offered by EKOGİRİŞİM received their certificates.
IUE rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin stated that they were proud to implement this project first time in Turkey and said “The education policy of our university is to raise well-equipped students and support their career planning. The implementation of this cooperation is the best example of it. This project will meet the need of well qualified work force of the rapidly growing retail sector. I believe it will seriously contribute to the sector.”
Tesco Kipa CEO Simon King that drew attention to the importance of the education that will be given in specialization in retail said “IUE is a very young university, and Tesco Kipa is a young company. I believe we will get affective results with the dynamism of the young people that will be educated in here. The education you will receive here will support us in doing our jobs better.”
IUE Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Cemali Dinçer emphasized the importance of the cooperation and project between the two institutions and said “We will implement undergraduate program as of January 2009. After the 2nd grade of Department of Business Administration, 30 students in the scope of the quota will take 14 different courses that cover retail sector and complete their undergraduate education. This will gain a career to them in the sector. The rapidly developing retail sector will also gain well-equipped managers. Most importantly it will provide employment for our students.”
Tesco Kipa Legal and Corporate Affairs Director Yılmaz Attila underlined that the project was one of the most beautiful examples of university-sector cooperation. Atilla said, “Apart from education, knowledge and implementation, this project will create a specialization area for affective usage of time. The dynamism of youth will unite with education and contribute to retail sector.”
Tesco Kipa Board of Directors Member Şinasi Ertan emphasized that retail sector would become one of the brightest sectors of future. Ertan underlined the need for educated human force and knowledge and said “This cooperation is a beautiful method for reaching knowledge in the best way today.”
The ceremony came to an end after the dance shows of IUE Latin Dance Club students Ahmet Gökhan Altun and Beril Ferdiğ, and the cocktail.
