THE NATIONAL SPORT FRENCH PEOPLE PETANK IS AT IUE
Izmir University of Economics students have met with a new sports branch. Petank the traditional game of French has been introduced to IUE students by French Department.
After the World Men Petank Championship in Izmir last year on September, French Department Coordinators started to work on this issue to bring this sport to IUE. Within the attendance of 8 Team and 16 sportsmen French Department Coordinator Başak Çiftçioğlu and Utkan Boyacıoğlu held first Petank Tournament. Having been a contentious tournament at the end Özen & Serdar Team won Cüneyt Ecin & Sarp Oktay and became champion. The winning team was awarded with French Films.
