GRADUATION AT UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS
a thousand and ten students who got the right to graduate by completing their education successfully received their diplomas in the ceremony.
The ranking students received their awards in the graduation ceremony that took place in İzmir University of Economics Amphitheatre. İzmir University of Economics Board of Trustees Chairman Ekrem Demirtaş congratulated the students in the graduation ceremony and said, “As the university, our biggest difference is giving a student oriented education. We wanted the students to use the knowledge we give them in their bright future. We are sending off a thousand students who stepped into this world. The young people who are going to make Turkey one of the ten most powerful countries in the world are graduating. I was always with our children during their education. They came to me when they had a problem. I now wish they would share their successes with me too. I thank you for raising these young people and make us proud.”
İzmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin made a speech in the ceremony and underlined that they never let fanaticism, outdated dogmatic thoughts and applications during education and they raised Ataturkist, modern youth. Prof. Dr. Sezgin said, “We tried to provide the best environment for you to attain knowledge, think, discuss, and express yourself freely to improve your personality. While doing these the light of reason and positive sciences lit our way. We depended on Atatürk's principles and revolutions especially secularity. We tried to raise you with what is required by "Contemporary Civilization Level" pointed out by the Founder of our Republic, Great Leader Atatürk. I believe that the formation and modern worldview we have given to you at the university will enable you to climb the steps of career easier and attain professional successes.”
Following the speeches, İzmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin and İzmir University of Economics Board of Trustees Chairman Ekrem Demirtaş together with the university top student Metehan Feridun Sorkun pinned his name on the log. Logistics Management student Metehan Feridun Sorkun became the top student and Economics student Mustafa Türkaslan became the second and Department of Translation and Interpretation student Sercan Pekel became the third and received their diplomas.
