THESE DESIGNS ARE UTTERLY DIFFERENT
5 projects of the students who created 31 projects are prepared in collaboration with Vestel Design team. Among the projects, pan for frying anchovy, environment, driver and passenger friendly taxi, pocket computer for adults over 70, service points for street animals attract the attention.
The graduation projects prepared in the scope of “Product Design” and “Design Management” specialties include product, system and service designs. Asst. Prof. Mine Ovacık Dörtbaş, Instructor Alex Velasco, Instructor Murat Arıkut and designer Sultan Sel from Vestel were the advisors of the students. There are very functional and attractive ideas in the designs that reflect the knowledge and skills of the students.
The projects carried out by the Design Management students with the leadership of Asst. Prof. A. Can Özcan are implemented to produce “Business Model Based on Industrial Design and Entrepreneurship”. After turning a service needed in daily life to a business model, projects came out like, service points for street animals and domestic animals, a station design that will enable listening to RadyoEKO at the campus and sending massages to live broadcast, and serving Mediterranean food in İzmir ferryboats.
In the exhibition that is opened on June 14, 2010, photographs, drawings, demonstrations in two and three dimensions, video and digital presentations take place in İzmir University of Economics Foyer.
