İZMİR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS YACHT DESIGN STUDIO IS IN ITS THIRD YEAR
As in second semester of each year, this year İzmir University of Economics Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design 3rd grade students are asked to design the interior of a yacht as a project.
With the start of the semester, an investigative tour is made to Viking Marin, Mengi Yay, Proteksan and Aydos dockyard in İstanbul-Tuzla in the first day. In the second day, the students visited Eurasia Yacht Fair and began to work at the studio.
This semester, the students will redesign the interior of a motorized yacht named Sensei, which is 38 meters and designed by Steohano Milanesi. They started working by determining the user profile. The studio studies that continued with space planning and conceptual sketch study is going on with a pre-jury that took place on Monday, March 22.
On Friday, April 09, it is planned to visit production facility of Sirena Marine in Bursa-Orhangazi, which is the producer of Azimuth boats in Turkey. April 19 and 21, Monday and Wednesday are the most important days of the project. A committee made up of boat producers and designers coming from İstanbul and Bodrum will evaluate the projects of the students. Thus, the students will have the chance to put the theoretical knowledge they learned during their undergraduate education into practice and get together with the yacht producers and designers during evaluation process.
