Psychological Support through Technology

Damla Pirci and Yarkın Yalgın, students of Department of Biomedical Engineering at Izmir University of Economics, and Doğa Pirci and Sarp Şentürk, students of Department of Computer Engineering at Yaşar University, developed an application that offers techniques that people with mental health problems can apply in their daily lives with a gamified experience. The application, called ‘Cure Connect’, recently won first place in the Aegean Career Fair (EGEKAF) Hackathon, organized by the universities in the Aegean Region.
Young university students from Izmir managed to develop a mental health app in 24 hours. Through this application, the young people aimed to create online support sessions with the support of psychological counseling students and graduate psychologists. In this way, it was aimed that individuals could both receive professional guidance and share experiences by creating their own communities. Students from different disciplines managed to achieve the award by combining their knowledge and producing an innovative solution.
