GLOBALIZATION AND URBAN NETWORKS MEETING
Union of Municipalities of the Marmara Region (MBB) and Izmir University of Economics (IUE) co-organized “Globalization and Urban Networks Meeting”. Role of cities in economics, politics, transportation, tourism, and migration was discussed at the meeting coordinated by MBB Center for Urban Policies and supported by City and Society Association.
Many researchers from Turkey and all around the world such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aslı Ceylan Öner, Head of IUE Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Çağlar Keyder, Prof. Dr. Ben Derudder, and Prof. Dr. Allan Watson attended the Globalization and Urban Networks Meeting.
The meeting was held in three sessions where "Globalization and World Cities", "Quantitative and Qualitative Research Approaches in Global Urban Networks Studies", and "Globalization and Real Estate Market and Globalization and Urban Image" topics were addressed. Researchers of GaWC- Globalization and World Cities Research Network, network that focuses upon research into the external relations of world cities, came together with the participants.
