İzmir University of Economics Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş who made a speech in the opening of Eron Alanköy Haute Couture Boutique in Kemeraltı Pirinç Center stated that he believed that the fashion house opened by two young graduates would be very successful and said, "I remembered the time ı started working in 1974. I hope they will open a branch first in İstanbul and later in Paris."

The two young graduates of IUE Department of Fashion Design opened the boutique where they designed haute couture clothes in Kemeraltı Pirinç Center. In the opening ceremony that İzmir Chamber of Commerce and IUE Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş, ICC Administrative Board Member Necmi Çalışkan, ICC Vice President of Assembly İlhan Açan, IUE Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Dr. Tevfik Balcıoğlu, ICC Assembly Members Edip Çavuşoğlu, Hilmi Gültay, Gönen Corporate Group Board Chairman Nafiz Gönen attended, model Duygu Akdeniz posed for the cameras with the clothes designed by the graduates. İzmir Chamber of Commerce and IUE Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş spoke in the opening ceremony and said, “In 1974 I first opened my workplace in 863 street, near Pirinç Center. Today, this opening reminded me of those days. We hope IUE Department of Fashion Design graduates Merve and Gizem would open s brach first in İstanbul and later in Paris, the center of fashion.”

Merve and Eron stated that they were designing dynamic clothes that could be easily adapted to living standards and said, “In a time where choices are limited and the people look for different designs, we combined New Zealand wool with silk, linen, and lace that reveal new textures and effects.”
