EDUCATION FOR KUŞADASI YOUTH
A protocol was signed between Ekrem Demirtaş, Chairman of Executive Board of Izmir Chamber of Commerce and President of IUE Board of Trustees, and Serdar Akdoğan, Chairman of Kuşadası Chamber of Commerce, to ensure 15% discount in annual tuition fees of Izmir University of Economics for Kuşadası youth. First degree blood relatives of members of Kuşadası Chamber of Commerce qualified for education discount at IUE as part of the protocol signed at IUE Board of Trustees Meeting Hall. Along with President Demirtaş and Akdoğan, Mahmut Öztaş, Council President of Kuşadası Chamber of Commerce, and IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen attended the protocol ceremony.
President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that the university, with its successful graduates, contributed majorly to business world. Demirtaş said, “Our University is a first for our chamber. It was established by Izmir Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation. There wasn’t any other foundation university with medium of instruction being %100 English. We broke new ground. We’ve made it all the way here with our academicians and successful students.” President Demirtaş indicated that chambers of commerce of Aegean Region were part of them and with the protocol they expected to see many students from Kuşadası at Izmir University of Economics. He said that they worked very hard to provide a contemporary education in all its stages.
Chairman Serdar Akdoğan stated that they have been closely monitoring the university since the day it was established. Akdoğan said, “A major demand is being met. First alternative of Kuşadası is always Izmir.”
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen pointed out that they always have been a leading institution in education and they aimed to train the graduates demanded by the business world. Esen stated that they would continue to raise innovative and entrepreneurial youth.
