EXHIBITION OF CHILDREN
As being an international project, having been arranged by Izmir University of Economics and providing social life and cultural interaction of children by photography, first exhibition of ‘Voices of Children’’ was held in ‘’Historical Gasworks’’. Exhibition taking place in Turkiye for the first time includes photographs having been taken by children according to their selection of physical and social environments.
Turkiye stage of the project is carried out collectively by Associate Prof. Ian Brown the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education at Australia University of Wollongong as well as Pauline Lysaght, Ros Westbrook and Asst. Prof. Deniz Hasirci head of the department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Izmir University of Economics. Undergraduate and post graduate students took part in the project voluntarily. Under the leadership of Umut Kartepe the head of Painting Department at Isikkent Education Campus and Yasar Bor the head of Behcet Uz Children Hospital School, the students of these schools were the focus point of the project. 32 Cameras were delivered to these children from Australia. The students took pictures of what they see around them, their friends, family, environment etc... Also they answered the questionnaire about Turkiye.
Students of Izmir University of Economics, Behcet Uz Primary School and Isikkent Education Campus, their parents and also Australian group take place in exhibition. The exhibition will be open till 06, December.
