‘Technology and creativity’ meeting at the fair

The Izmir International Fair, which opened its doors for the 93rd time this year with the theme of ‘Technology,’ is hosting the Create in Izmir Technology and Creativity Days, showcasing the power of the creative industries in the Aegean region. Experts in the field will share important information on game technologies, artificial intelligence, and new technology trends during the sessions that will continue until September 5, answering the questions of fair visitors.

The event series, organized under the Create in Izmir project led by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and in partnership with Izmir Technology and Innovation Inc., will also lay the groundwork for the emergence of creative business ideas. Young people interested in various fields such as design, game development, software, television, and cinema will have the opportunity to determine the best career path for themselves with the knowledge they will gain.

WILL START AT 17.30

The guests of the session on Wednesday, September 4, titled ‘Cities of the Future,’ will be Prof. Dr. Koray Velibeyoğlu, President of the Izmir Planning Agency; Prof. Dr. Aslı Ceylan Öner, Vice Rector of IUE; and Şükran Nurlu, Vice Secretary-General of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. In the event titled ‘Creative Use of Artificial Intelligence’ on Thursday, September 5, Ozan Sihay, digital content creator; Doruk Yazıcıoğlu, Artificial Intelligence and Smart City Technologies Manager at Izmir Innovation and Technology Inc., and Noyan Alperen İdim, CEO of Decktopus AI, will share their knowledge and experiences with the guests. All events will be held between the hours of 17.30 and 20.30 at the Izmir Innovation and Technology Inc. booth.

GREAT INTEREST ON THE FIRST DAY

Dr. Gözde Çeviker, Director of the Creative Economy Research and Application Center at IUE, noted that the program on the first day, featuring the participation of the AI robot Sophia, attracted great interest and invited the people of Izmir to join the meetings. Dr. Çeviker said, “We set out with the goal of making Izmir a center of creativity and technology with the events we will organize under the Create in Izmir project. By bringing together creative industries and technology, we are opening discussions on topics that shape the future of Izmir. We aim to further advance our city by combining Izmir's historical and cultural richness with modern innovations and technologies. We believe that these events are of great importance in broadening Izmir's vision and building a sustainable future by integrating creative industries with technology.”
