Governor Elban listened to the projects and chatted with students

Izmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban visited Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and inspected the campus. Mahmut Özgener, Chairman of Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO) and President of the Board of Trustees of IUE, and Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu gave detailed information to Governor Elban about the latest studies carried out at the university, especially the new campus project to be built in Güzelbahçe. Visiting the ‘Tesla Laboratory’ and examining in detail the studies carried out in different fields such as space, genetics and machinery, Governor Elban chatted with academics and students.

IZTO Vice Chairman and IUE Board of Trustees Member Cemal Elmasoğlu, IUE Vice Rectors Prof. Çiğdem Kentmen Çin, Prof. Dr. Levent Eren and Prof. Dr. Aslı Ceylan Öner, IUE Vice Secretary General Volkan Koç and IZTO General Coordinator Pınar Karayılanoğlu also took part in the presentation where Governor Elban was informed about the University.

WE ALWAYS STAND BY YOUNG PEOPLE

Governor of Izmir Dr. Süleyman Elban stated that young people have important duties for Turkey to continue its rapid development and to continue on its path in a strong way. Stating that they will continue to stand by young people and support them as they have done so far, Governor Elban emphasized that they will closely follow the projects carried out at Izmir University of Economics. Governor Elban stated that he sincerely believes that new studies that will set an example for all of Turkey from Izmir in the scientific sense will be realized and wished success to the students and faculty members.

23 YEARS OF PRIDE

Expressing pleasure to welcome Governor Elban at Izmir University of Economics, Mahmut Özgener, Chairman of Izmir Chamber of Commerce and President of IUE Board of Trustees said, “Our University, which started education on April 14, 2001, recently celebrated its 23^rd anniversary. In this 23-year journey, which we started as the first Foundation University of the Aegean, we have packed many achievements, joys and innovations. We have made our name among the leading and most preferred universities of our country. We aim to carry the success of our University to even higher points with all stakeholders in our city, especially Izmir Governorship.”

WE CONVEYED FUTURE GOALS OF THE UNIVERSITY

Thanking Governor Elban for his visit, IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu said, “We informed the Governor in detail about our new campus project to be built in Güzelbahçe, as well as the Beyaz Köşk Kindergarten, Psychology Research and Application Center, healthy campus, student exchanges, and our many national and international projects. We conveyed our future goals. We benefited from his valuable opinions and suggestions. The Governor stated that he will provide all the support he can in every project that will contribute to our youth and our city. I would like to thank him once again on behalf of our University."
